Cognitive Confluence · CNSI–NIMHANS lecture series

Talks, symposia and workshops where disciplines meet

Cognitive Confluence (CNF) is the Society's running series of lectures, discussions and hands-on workshops, hosted with the Department of Neurophysiology at NIMHANS, Bengaluru. Sessions are open to members, students and faculty.

Formats

CNF Talks

Single-speaker lectures and discussions

An invited speaker and an open discussion on a question at the edge of cognitive neuroscience — from the body and the self to the measurement of consciousness.

CNF Symposia

One-day thematic symposia

Several speakers around a method or theme, with technical depth — the first symposium surveyed current approaches to EEG analysis.

Workshops

Multi-day hands-on training

Practical training for students and early-career researchers in recording, analysing and interpreting neurophysiological and behavioural data.

Sleep Workshop

Three days on the science and measurement of sleep — polysomnography, sleep architecture and the relationship between sleep and cognition — with the Department of Neurophysiology.

Body and the Self: a discussion

An open discussion on bodily awareness, interoception and the construction of the self.

Current Approaches in EEG Analysis

Mathematical methods in neuroscience with emphasis on EEG — principal and independent component analysis, and Granger causality testing — alongside clinical and cognitive perspectives on EEG.

CNF Talks 01–05 and later sessions are being added to this archive. If you spoke at or attended a session and have the abstract, slides or a recording, please send them to the Secretariat.
